QR Code Attendance in Minutes
Passing a sign-in sheet takes ten minutes and produces handwriting nobody can read. A QR code on the screen or the door opens a short check-in form; attendees scan on arrival, and the list builds itself in Google Sheets or your dashboard.
Free plan: 3 dynamic codes, no time limit. Pro types free for 14 days, no card.

Example data
What the code can do
One printed code, pointing wherever you choose. Change the destination later and every printed copy follows.
Link to a Google Form
Make a Google Form (name, email, session) and point a free code at it. Responses go to Google Sheets.

Choose the fields; every check-in arrives in your dashboard with the time it was submitted.

What the scans tell you
Every scan of a dynamic code is counted, with link previews and bots filtered out, so the numbers are people.
Scans per session
One code per session or room, compared side by side.
Arrival times
Scans by minute show when people actually arrive.
Scans vs check-ins
If more people scan than submit, the form is too long.
Repeat attendees
The repeat-visit share shows returning participants across sessions.
Reported for every code: scans over time, unique vs total, country, US state and city, iPhone vs Android, operating system, hour of day and day of week, with CSV export and a weekly email report.
Printing it so it scans
- Show the code large on the first slide, or print it at the door at least 4 inches (10 cm) wide.
- Keep the form to 2–3 fields so the line moves.
- To stop people checking in friends who aren't there, use a dynamic code and change its destination after the session starts, so photos of the code sent later stop working.
- Scan a printed proof with an iPhone and an Android phone before you print the rest.
Set it up
- Step 1
Make the form
Google Forms, or a hosted check-in form in ScanOrbit.
- Step 2
Create a dynamic code
One per session or room if you want separate counts.
- Step 3
Display it at the start
On the screen or at the door.
- Step 4
Close it after
Point the code elsewhere once check-in ends.
Frequently asked questions
Can a QR code check that the person is really there?
Not by itself: a photo of the code can be shared. Changing the code's destination after check-in closes, and asking for an email, reduces that a lot.
Can attendance go straight into Google Sheets?
Yes. Use a Google Form (responses go to Sheets), or a hosted form plus our Zapier recipe that adds each response to a sheet (Business).
Is it free?
A website-link code to a Google Form is free. Hosted forms and feedback are Pro, free for 14 days.
