Pet tags
QR Code Pet Tags
An engraved tag fits a phone number at best. A QR code tag opens a page with your pet's name and photo, your phone number with one-tap calling, medical needs and the vet's number, and if you move or change number you update the page, not the tag.
Free plan: 3 dynamic codes, no time limit. Pro types free for 14 days, no card.

Example data
What the code can do
One printed code, pointing wherever you choose. Change the destination later and every printed copy follows.
Pet profile page
Name, photo, a Call owner button, medical and diet notes, vet contact.
Landing page QR code (Pro)Analytics
What the scans tell you
Every scan of a dynamic code is counted, with link previews and bots filtered out, so the numbers are people.
When the tag was scanned
A scan of your pet's tag is worth knowing about immediately; check the code's activity in your dashboard.
Roughly where
City and state of the scanner's network, not a GPS location. It narrows the search area; it doesn't pinpoint your pet.
Whether the finder called
Taps on Call owner and Save contact on the profile page show whether the finder reached out.
Reported for every code: scans over time, unique vs total, country, US state and city, iPhone vs Android, operating system, hour of day and day of week, with CSV export and a weekly email report.
Printing it so it scans
- Tags are small: make the code as large as the tag allows (at least 0.8 in / 2 cm) with a quiet margin around it.
- Use a laser-engraved or UV-printed metal tag rather than a paper insert.
- Add your phone number in text too, for anyone who doesn't scan.
- Test the finished tag with two phones.
What a QR tag can't do
A QR code isn't a tracker: it only reports anything when someone scans it, and location is approximate (from the scanner's network). Keep your pet's microchip registered as well.
Set it up
- Step 1
Make the profile page
Photo, name, a big Call owner button, medical notes.
- Step 2
Create the code
Dynamic, so you can update your number later.
- Step 3
Order a metal tag
Engraved or UV-printed with the code and your number.
- Step 4
Keep details current
Update the page after a move or new number.
Frequently asked questions
Does the QR tag show my pet's GPS location?
No. You can see roughly where it was scanned (city and state, from the scanner's network), but it isn't a GPS tracker.
Will it keep working?
Create a phone or vCard code as a static code and it works forever with no account (but can't be changed or tracked). A profile page is a Pro type and needs an active plan.
Is my address shown?
Only what you put on the page. Many owners show a phone number and first name only.
