QR Codes for Dental Offices

Patients spend time in your waiting room and chair with a phone in hand. QR codes there can book the next cleaning, open aftercare instructions, connect to Wi-Fi and, after a good visit, open your Google review box, without your front desk handing out paper.

Free plan: 3 dynamic codes, no time limit. Pro types free for 14 days, no card.

What the scans tell you

Every scan of a dynamic code is counted, with link previews and bots filtered out, so the numbers are people.

Which ask brings reviews

Front desk card vs receipt vs treatment room: one code each, compared.

Rebooking from the chair

Booking-code scans show how many patients schedule before they leave.

Aftercare reach

How many patients actually open the aftercare instructions.

Busy times

Scan timing mirrors your appointment flow.

Reported for every code: scans over time, unique vs total, country, US state and city, iPhone vs Android, operating system, hour of day and day of week, with CSV export and a weekly email report.

Printing it so it scans

  • Counter cards and receipt codes at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide, with a one-line ask.
  • Treatment-room signs at the patient's eye line when reclined, on wipeable stock.
  • Print one proof and scan it with an iPhone and an Android phone where it will be used before printing the rest.

Keep health information out of QR forms

ScanOrbit isn't HIPAA certified. Don't collect medical history or other health information through ScanOrbit forms; link to your practice-management or HIPAA-compliant forms system instead. QR codes that open public pages (reviews, booking, Wi-Fi, aftercare) don't involve patient data.

    Keep what patients use.

Frequently asked questions

Can patients fill in medical history through a ScanOrbit form?

We don't recommend it: ScanOrbit isn't HIPAA certified. Point the code at your HIPAA-compliant forms provider instead.

Is asking for Google reviews allowed?

Yes, if you ask every patient the same way and don't offer anything in return, per Google's policies. Healthcare professional rules may also apply; check your state board's guidance on testimonials.

Is it free?

Booking, forms-link and Wi-Fi codes are free (3 dynamic codes). Review and PDF codes are Pro, free for 14 days on the trial.
