QR Codes for Schools

School flyers go home in backpacks and come back crumpled, and the date has changed by then anyway. A QR code on the flyer opens the current details, a sign-up form or the fundraiser page, and changes when plans do.

Free plan: 3 dynamic codes, no time limit. Pro types free for 14 days, no card.

Analytics

What the scans tell you

Every scan of a dynamic code is counted, with link previews and bots filtered out, so the numbers are people.

Which flyers get read

Scans per flyer show which messages reach families.

Sign-up follow-through

Scans vs sign-ups shows whether the form is too long.

When parents look

Evenings after pickup, mostly.

Fundraiser reach

Scans per campaign, per grade.

Reported for every code: scans over time, unique vs total, country, US state and city, iPhone vs Android, operating system, hour of day and day of week, with CSV export and a weekly email report.

Printing it so it scans

  • Flyers: at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide in black and white; photocopiers handle that fine.
  • Hallway posters: larger, at adult and student eye levels.
  • Print one proof and scan it with an iPhone and an Android phone where it will be used before printing the rest.

Student privacy

Don't collect student information through ScanOrbit forms; use your district-approved systems for anything covered by FERPA or COPPA. QR codes that open public pages are fine.
