Reorders & refills
Reorder QR Codes for Products People Run Out Of
The moment a customer needs to reorder is when they're holding the empty package. A QR code on it opens your product page or cart in one scan, before they search and find a competitor, and the scan count shows how many reorders the package itself starts.

What the scans tell you
Every scan of a dynamic code is counted, with link previews and bots filtered out, so the numbers are people.
Reorder intent per product
Scans on each product's reorder code show which items people come back for.
Time to reorder
When scans happen after the product launched or shipped gives you a real usage cycle for reminder emails.
Where repeat customers are
State and city show where your loyal base lives.
Did the redesign help?
Compare scans before and after moving the code or changing the call to action.
Reported for every code: scans over time, unique vs total, country, US state and city, iPhone vs Android, operating system, hour of day and day of week, with CSV export and a weekly email report.
Printing it so it scans
- Put the code where it's seen when the product runs out: on the refill cartridge, the bottom of the jar, or the inside of the lid.
- Use the words "Scan to reorder" right next to it.
- If the product page URL might change (new store, new variant), use a dynamic code so you can update it.
- Print one proof and scan it with an iPhone and an Android phone before the full run, in the lighting where it will be used.
Set it up
- Step 1
Link the exact product
Product page with the right size preselected, or your store's cart link if it supports one.
- Step 2
Create one code per product
So each product's reorders can be counted separately.
- Step 3
Print on the part that's left when it's empty
Lids, cartridges and bottoms outlast the outer box.
- Step 4
Use the timing
Scan timing tells you when to send the reorder reminder.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work with Shopify or WooCommerce?
Yes. The code opens any URL, including a product page or a cart link from your store.
Can I see how many scans became orders?
ScanOrbit counts scans. To see orders, add UTM tags to the link (Pro) and your store analytics or Google Analytics will attribute the sales to the QR code.
What if we change the product URL?
Change the destination of the dynamic code; printed packages keep working.
