Apparel hang tags

QR Codes on Clothing Hang Tags

A hang tag is read in the fitting room and at home, at the moments when shoppers decide whether to keep something. A QR code on it can show the size guide, how to style it and what it's made of, and the scans show which collections customers actually engage with.

Free plan: 3 dynamic codes, no time limit. Pro types free for 14 days, no card.

What the scans tell you

Every scan of a dynamic code is counted, with link previews and bots filtered out, so the numbers are people.

Collections that engage

One code per collection or style shows which tags shoppers scan.

In store vs at home

Scan times hint at fitting-room research vs at-home styling.

Store by store

Separate codes per stockist show which retailers' customers engage.

Return-risk signal

Lots of size-guide scans on one item suggest the fit needs explaining.

Reported for every code: scans over time, unique vs total, country, US state and city, iPhone vs Android, operating system, hour of day and day of week, with CSV export and a weekly email report.

Printing it so it scans

  • Hang tags are small: keep the code at least 0.8 in (2 cm) and the tag stock matte.
  • Print the code on the back of the tag with a one-line call to action on the front.
  • For sewn-in care labels, use woven or printed labels tested for scanning after washing.
  • Print one proof and scan it with an iPhone and an Android phone before the full run, in the lighting where it will be used.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reuse tags across seasons?

Yes, with a dynamic code. Change the destination when the collection changes.

Will the code still scan after washing?

Printed paper tags aren't meant to be washed. For care labels, test the label material after a few wash cycles before production.
