QR Codes on Cosmetics and Supplement Labels

Beauty and supplement buyers read labels closely, and the label is tiny. A QR code opens everything that doesn't fit: the full ingredient story, how to use it, results and reorders, and the scans tell you which products people want to know more about.

Free plan: 3 dynamic codes, no time limit. Pro types free for 14 days, no card.

What the scans tell you

Every scan of a dynamic code is counted, with link previews and bots filtered out, so the numbers are people.

Which products prompt questions

Scans per SKU show where shoppers want more information before or after buying.

Retail vs online customers

Separate codes for retail packs and direct-to-consumer packs show which channel engages more.

Repeat intent

Reorder-code scans by product show which items build loyalty.

Where engaged customers are

State and city data for influencer and retail targeting.

Reported for every code: scans over time, unique vs total, country, US state and city, iPhone vs Android, operating system, hour of day and day of week, with CSV export and a weekly email report.

Printing it so it scans

  • Small jars and bottles: keep the code at least 0.6–0.8 in (1.5–2 cm) and test on the actual curved container.
  • Metallic and glossy finishes reflect light into the camera; print the code on a matte area.
  • Put the code on the outer carton and the container, since cartons are thrown away first.
  • Print one proof and scan it with an iPhone and an Android phone before the full run, in the lighting where it will be used.

Labeling rules still apply

Required information, such as the ingredient declaration and directions or warnings, has to stay on the label itself. Use the QR code for additional content, and check the current rules for your product category and market.

Set it up

  1. Step 1

Pick what customers ask about most

    Ingredients, routine or results.

  2. Step 2

One code per product (or line)

So interest can be compared by product.

  3. Step 3

Print on a matte, flat area

And on the container, not only the box.

  4. Step 4

    Refresh content

Update tutorials and ingredient pages as formulas change.

Frequently asked questions

Can the code help with counterfeits?

A dynamic code lets you see scans from unexpected places, which can be an early signal, but a standard QR code alone is not an anti-counterfeiting measure since it can be copied.

Can I update content after the labels are printed?

Yes. Change the destination or edit the hosted page; printed labels keep working.

Which plan do I need?

Website-link codes are free. Product pages, video and social pages are Pro, free for 14 days on the trial.
